Please be advised of the following Standard maintenance:

Change Request Title: Capacity upgrade - JHB

Maintenance Type: Standard

Maintenance Description: Installation of new aggregation hardware

Technical Description: Aggregation switches 3 & 4 will be brought up, and links from old aggregation stack moved to new switches

Impact Description: This maintenance has been carefully planned to prevent impact to services and is deemed non service impacting. Due to the nature of the maintenance and that our technicians are working on the aggregation switches, should anything go wrong there is a high risk that we will drop services to the Johannesburg and Bloemfontein regions. Please make your customers aware that this is a high risk maintenance.

Reason for change: Installation of new aggregation hardware, improve core network infrastructure

Octotel Network Notice - Rondebosch/ Claremont Area - 21 September 2019 We are currently aware of certain customers that are down in the Claremont and Rondebosch area . This is due to an independent contractor who has trenched alongside our cable and damaged our fibre infrastructure.

Our engineers have been to site to asses the damaged cable and confirmed the cable and conduit will have to be replaced.

We are working on getting all links restored as a matter of urgency and will provide further feedback once the links has been restored.

    We are currently aware of the customers down in the Estate, The Sandown in the Blouberg area. This is due to an independent contractor who has trenched alongside the estate and damaged our fibre infrastructure.

    Our engineers have been to site to asses the damaged cable and confirmed the cable and conduit will have to be replaced.

  • The connection to the estate The Sandown has been restored, Please have those customers still offline reboot their routers and test and confirm connection status.
